IG Infrarood Benelux

The industry association IG Infrared Benelux was founded in 2018. Currently, the trade association has 12 members in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Through its active advocacy, IG Infrared Benelux has already been able to achieve some successes. For example, the ISSO institute has published an information booklet about the application of infrared heating, the Kleintje ISSO. This was partly achieved through the input of the trade association.
IG Infrared Benelux has been active at various trade fairs and events to share knowledge about infrared heating.
In 2024, a knowledge event for infrared heating was organized in collaboration with Techniek Nederland. During this event, a manifesto was published, in which various industry associations from the construction world call for recognition of infrared heating as an alternative in the energy transition. Discussions are currently being held with the ministry on how this can be shaped.
In February 2026, a follow-up to the knowledge event will be given at the VSK.
The EIHA quality label was partly created through the contribution of IG Infrared Benelux and the collaboration with the Indoor Climate Technology Foundation.

IG Infrared Austria

Infrared heating is standard in buildings. Electricity is preferably generated from renewable sources. In the course of the energy transition, both energy generation and distribution, as well as heat dissipation within buildings, are an integral part of holistic building concepts. Through intensive press and public relations work, the IG Infrarot (Infrared Association) serves as the industry’s information hub.
By networking with European infrared heating manufacturers, we can provide interested parties with objective and well-founded information, thus establishing and consolidating infrared heating in the market. Furthermore, we are working on a common position to be recognized as a representative of the interests of policymakers and to influence the framework conditions.

We want to educate and advise on the topic of infrared heating, develop application and design guidelines, set and monitor quality standards for members, accompany standardization processes, support research work and cooperate with experts, work with related industries such as solar power, develop holistic building concepts, be a platform for end customers, architects and planners, be a contact for the media, authorities and politics.

IG Infrarot Deutschland e.V.

is the association of manufacturers and distributors of infrared heaters. The association is dedicated to electric heating with infrared heating systems in all areas (near, medium, and far infrared).

The purpose of the association is:

• to encourage and support scientific research into heating with infrared heating systems and to develop the necessary scientific foundations;
• to conduct company-neutral scientific lectures, courses, and other events open to the interested public;
• to publish information and results of scientific research on heating with infrared heating systems;
• to provide scientific lectures and training courses aimed at architects, engineers, energy consultants, real estate companies, building contractors, building systems consultants, sales companies and end customers, as well as sellers of products that are certified according to or comply with the quality standards developed by the association;
• to publish publications;
• to participate in the European Infrared Heating Alliance, e.g., through working groups;
• to engage in political and economic lobbying and other advocacy activities

We are proud to be continuing the legacy of Sir William Herschel, who made his incredible discovery of the existence of infrared radiation right back in 1800. Prior to Herschel’s discovery, no-one else had considered that this heat was another form of light.

Star Progetti, was the first to realise the social and economic potential of using these spaces. Based on this analysis, Star Progetti designed and manufactured the first heater capable of making it easier for people to spend time outside, an invention that was soon a global success, from Italy to Japan. Since then, in 30 years of activity, Star Progetti has evolved into an international industrial group consisting of 5 different business units, with a product presence in more than 60 countries worldwide.
