Target heat saves energy costs

Heating heritage buildings efficiently has always been challenging as they are typically large, cold spaces, and often face conservation pressure.

The reasons why infrared heating is very appropriate in these circumstances are:

• Target warmth: Infrared heaters warm people and objects directly, instead of heating whole volumes of air in a space which naturally rises toward the ceiling. This enables you to target the warmth in the space that is occupied, delivering heat only where and when it is needed and saving energy.

• Reduced disruption: Electricians install electric infrared systems without extensive pipework or plumbing; thus, installation is not disruptive.

• Reduced humidity: By warming surfaces directly, infrared helps reduce cold surface conditions that promote condensation and other damp-related problems.

• Supporting decarbonisation: As an electric heating technology, infrared will increasingly benefit the transition towards lower-carbon emissions, especially when used alongside renewable electricity.
